The Abrikosov Center for Theoretical Physics (ACTP) at the Moscow Institute for Physics and
Technology (MIPT) invites applications for several senior scientist positions in theoretical
condensed matter physics, photonics, quantum optics and information. The ACTP has been created
in 2022 with a goal of accumulating a strong group of young theoretical
physicists who will develop their research projects in a stimulating atmosphere of the
leading research oriented university. At the next stage it will employ several senior
researchers and host a number of world-leading theoretical physicists coming as visiting
scientists for fixed periods. ACTP is expected to play a significant role
as a high-international standard research center immersed in the environment of the
highly reputed educational institute.
The competitive selection will be conducted by the International Advisory Board (IAB)
established at ACTP and including leading theoretical physicists from Russia, USA, UK and
France. The selection criteria will be the significance of the scientific direction created
under the guidance of the candidate, confirmed by publications in highly ranked
scientific journals, personal awards and prizes, as well as the quality of the scientific
research project submitted by the candidate. Applications in English containing a CV,
a list of publications and a 2 page-research project are to be submitted
here.
The submission dead-line is September 30, 2022. Shortlisted candidates will be invited
to on-line interviews with the members of the International Advisory Board of the ACTP.
It is expected that offers to the first successful candidates will be issued
in October 2022.
The Senior scientist positions will be granted for a 5-year period. The Senior scientist
fellows will benefit from a gross salary of 350.000 Rubles per month. There also will
be an opportunity to form small research teams. MIPT will offer subsidised housing
options close to its campus.
