The Abrikosov Center for Theoretical Physics (ACTP) at the Moscow
Institute for Physics and Technology (MIPT) invites applications for several
research fellow positions in theoretical condensed matter physics, photonics,
quantum optics and information. The ACTP has been created in 2022 with a
goal of accumulating a strong group of young theoretical physicists who will
develop their research projects in a stimulating atmosphere of the leading
research-oriented university. At present, the Center employs a core of 3 young
researchers and 3 senior researchers. It hosts international visitors coming
for fixed-term periods and runs the yearly international
conference and International School on theoretical physics.
Successful candidates aged not more than 35 are expected to hold a PhD or
equivalent in physics, to possess a track record of high-impact publications and
to present a compelling research plan for 3 years to come. The research
fellow positions will be granted for a 3-year period extendible by further 2
years upon evaluation by the International Advisory Board of the ACTP.
The research fellows will benefit from a gross salary of 250,000 Rubles per
month. MIPT will offer subsidised housing options close to its campus.
Applications in English containing a CV, PhD diploma, a list of publications,
and a 2-page research project are to be submitted by October 31, 2025.
Short-listed candidates will be invited to online interviews with the
members of the International Advisory Board of the ACTP. It is
expected that offers to the first successful candidates will be issued in
December 2025.
